Warbonnet Blackbird Cover

I finally got around to make my Warbonnet Blackbird cover. I saw this at the Dolly Sods hang on Dutch’s hammock and liked it. He doesn’t sell them so I figured I might as well give it a go. I’m extremely happy with the way it turned out. Tight fitting lines and a nice snug fit. Head on over to my D.I.Y. & Gear Page to check out the video on it. While I was in the woods I shot a short video of my cook kit also. It weighs in at 4.8 oz. and does what I need it to do, make coffee and heat water for food. Does it all on 1/2 oz. of fuel.

Take care.

  1. Hey BC! Thanks for video on your WB top cover. Have you tried it? I had one that I bought from Arrowhead Equipment but I always got a lot of condensation on my topquilt so I sold it. Now I wish I would have kept it and just vented it.

    Nice DIY job.

    • Thanks Happy Camper. I have not tried it yet. As soon as the bugs went away I pretty much switched hammocks. I’m thinking I will use the cover more in the spring & fall, possible summer. It will be more for those sudden drops in temps or if I take something really light for a cover & need additional warmth. Would have been nice to have at the DS hang this year, although I didn’t get cold, it would have been the perfect weather for it.
